QHSE
Our commitment
Safety at the heart of everything we do
At EMRIG, Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) are not mere regulatory obligations — they are core values that guide every intervention we carry out.
With over 30 years of experience in high-risk industrial environments, our teams have built a safety culture that protects our people, our clients and the environment.
QHSE organisation
A team dedicated to safety
HSE Manager
Responsible for defining and rolling out the Health, Safety and Environment policy, overseeing all safety procedures across every EMRIG site.
Safety Officers
Permanent staff dedicated to driving and monitoring day-to-day site safety, raising team awareness and ensuring procedures are followed.
Site Managers / Supervisors
Experienced supervisors who enforce HSE standards on the ground and coordinate teams in line with safety procedures.
Our practices
On-site safety procedures
Every EMRIG intervention follows strict protocols designed to safeguard our teams and the quality of our work.
Work Area Preparation
Before any intervention begins, our team carries out rigorous preparation:
- Team briefing: full information on the nature of the works and the risks specific to each task
- Work area marking: clear demarcation and signage of intervention zones
- Secure storage areas: dedicated locations for refractory materials at ground level
Task-Specific Work Methods
Every piece of equipment and activity is governed by detailed work methods:
- Scaffolding procedures: erection according to equipment-specific work methods
- Strict adherence to drawings: rigorous application of technical specifications and recommendations
- Load capacity checks: verification of maximum loads for winches and cranes (capped at 1.6 tonnes)
Welding Rules and Surface Preparation
Our welding procedures ensure both safety and quality:
- Alloy selection: rigorous material selection in line with drawings
- Surface preparation: thorough cleaning to remove dust, dirt and contaminants
- Compatible electrodes: use of electrodes suited to the alloys being welded
- Precise marking: exact anchor positioning per technical specifications
Quality Control and Standards Compliance
The quality of our work is guaranteed by:
- Precision joints: brick joint thickness kept within specification (maximum 3mm of mortar)
- Expansion joints: correctly applied between brick-to-concrete and brick-to-brick interfaces
- Template compliance: filling carried out to defined arches and templates
- Continuous inspection: checks performed at every stage of refractory installation
